Jessica Hough is an independent curator, arts administrator, and founding principal of Thought Projects LLC. She worked for over twenty years as a full-time curator producing both contemporary art and history exhibitions. She has held leadership roles at museums including the Hammer Museum, the Mills College Art Museum, the California Historical Society, and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. Among her interests are: delving into the practice of drawing, the miniature in contemporary art, art made through creative collaboration, and examining the triggers for controversy and censorship in art. She is deeply interested in artists' archives and ephemera, and examining studio practice as a key to unlocking artwork. She is especially committed to writing about, and exhibiting art by women and those traditionally underrepresented in the art world. She received her undergraduate degree in Art History from Occidental College and her MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College. She lives in Los Angeles.
